31 days of Halloween continues with LET ME IN. Vampire flick. Pretty good actually. It's got that guy from 13 Reasons and he was also in Open House. He's a good actor... he made me believe he was only 12 years old.... wait .... this movie was made a few years ago.... Maybe that's why he's younger in it. Yeah... He's still a good actor but not as good as if he was currently making you think he was 12 now. It's on the Netflix if ya gots it. If you like vampire movies where the vampire is a youngun then this is one for ya to watch then. Woo. I'm still on day one, too.
I totally forgot about this blog page that I had.... don't I have enough to do already? Probably but I may actually try to do some more blogging here and there .... if I remember... TIME! Time has no meaning to one such as I.... which might be the reason I keep burning my biscuits... Check out the Rosco Web Series that the Landon and myself are doing on the YouTubes.
PENSACON MEMORIES ONE:
Just got back from Pensacon 2017 and it was awesome. It's like a nerd family reunion with all my nerd friends. So many of us make this convention every year. So , I just remember I have a blog and should be using it.
So , I'm gonna post some memories in me blog but just concentrate on one at a time... then the others will come later.
First day of Pensacon. A bunch of us are eating breakfast at the big table like we do every year. It's breakfast time and the host hotel has a cool restaurant in the hotel. We're all eating there when in walks David Bradley. That's right , Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, The Strain, An Adventure in Space & Time (Doctor Who special). That David Bradley. He walks over and talks to Mike Ensley (the guy who started Pensacon) and then sits at the table behind us. It's neat and cool just to be eating a table away from a cool nice guy like that but then we all get up and start leaving when I pick up my big furry horned puppet, Rosco. I carry this puppet to shows and cons and he's been to every Pensacon. David sees him and points saying, "That's brilliant." So I step over and we talk about the puppet. He asks if I'm doing a show over the weekend and I tell him no that the puppet just helps in selling my comics and art and I also do interviews with him. We talk about the An Adventure in Time & Space show he did. I thank him and go about my way.
Later that day I'm waiting while the Slyvester McCoy and Sophie Aldred set up so I can interview them when David walks up. He asks the volunteer next to me if she's met the Puppet. He tells her that he had breakfast with the puppet and that the puppet ate all his food. We have a good laugh and he goes on about his way.
So who do I run into on my way out of breakfast the next day? That's right , it's David again and yes I do have the puppet. He laughs and says, " I just keep running into you and this puppet, don't I." And yes, the puppet and myself ran into David for just about every breakfast. Even though Monday morning Rosco the puppet was packed in the car for the ride home I did have my writing pen with me and the writing pen is a snowman puppet. So at least I had a puppet of some sort when I ran into David again as I was leaving.
Stay tooned for more Pensacon Memories coming later I tells ya and have a bubbatastic day.
Also, here's a shout out to one of my BubbaWorld Comix sponsors. Be sure to check them out.
There is a new website yall should check out. It's for the LOUISVILLE TRADING CO. Antique Flea Mall. It's a cool place. The website is still tweeking some pages but should be running fully by the end of the week. They have a bit of everything in there, old comics, old books, vinyl records, antiques and some art too. If you're in or are near Louisville, MS then go by and check it out. There's even a map on the homepage.
Have a Bubbatastic Day.
That's right, I do have a blog on this site , don't I. Well then lets blogs about some stuff, shall we. I've started by me MISSISSIPPI ARTS & CULTURE MAGAZINE. Yes , just click on the lovely like there and read articles and check out suggestions on books , comics and games and such. Have a Bubbatastic day , I tells ya.
The easiest way to put it is, PENSACON 2016 WAS FREAKING AWESOME, I TELLS YA!!! Rosco got to inter view three actors from DOCTOR WHO. Peter Davison the fifth Doctor, Terry Molloy who played DAVROS for the 5th , 6th & 7th Doctors and Dan Starkey who plays the Sontaran STRAX on the new series. Just click their names for the interview links. This is by far my favorite con to go to. I have a table in Artist Alley and Rosco sneaks away to do the interviews. I got other interviews also, Sam Witwer, Kel Michell and Jim Cummings and interviews from Artist Alley. I will be posting other Blogs to link those but enjoy these firsts.
The only constant in the Universe is Change.... and my underwear.... and Change is coming to the BUBBAWORLD COMIX site , I tells ya.
For centuries ..... well maybe not centuries , although it feels like centuries, not that it's a bad thing , just saying... for a long time now I have been doing six comic strip titles. Originally when it was a paper it was six pages with each title a full page. Then I made it four pages and each title got half a page with one title getting a full page. Then I changed again.... I went to the interwebs. It became a web comic. I was updating six days a week. That's a lot for a web cartoonist. A different title for each day of the week. Then I had to take side jobs that became full time jobs and I made a new change. I went to three updates a week, still pretty good, and did three titles one week and three titles the next week. All this I was putting out collection books of the strips too.
Now the time for Change has come again. Having six titles on one page makes the archives a little difficult. I had six archive pages, one for each title, that held about ten strips each. Then I created six wordpress sites for the full archives of each strip. All six titles are humor strips and have one shot gag strips but each one of them has ongoing stories also. With each title updating twice a month it's a little hard to keep up with whats going on. If it takes three or four strips to advance a story then you're looking at it taking six to eight weeks to read that story while doing the same with five other titles.
Here is the Change. I will be dropping all six titles on the BUBBAWORLD COMIX webpage and replace it with a one shot humor gag strip. It won't involve regular characters and will not have ongoing storylines. Do not fear, the six original titles are not going anywhere. They will become books. I have a collection book that will be released in the upcoming weeks and more strips for a second collection book. After that each title will have it's on long base story in book form. Around fifty pages or so which will be around a hundred strips. Two strips per printed page. The page count depends on how the story goes. Hopefully I can come out with a book every couple of months and all the titles will be represented within the year. I could never stop doing these titles, they are like my children... they've just hit puberty and need to grow into something different , hopefully something better.
Two weeks and one day. That's how many updates of the old way will happen before the new Changes take place. These are the last seven strips That I had written so I'm drawing them before switching over. Until then, I'll see ya in the funny pages.
